Summer days are for swimming in the lake, eating ice cream and, of course, kickin’ up mud! Come watch the mud-slinging action at the Houlton Agricultural Fair! 

The 2023 Mud Run will take place on Tuesday, July 4th @ 12:00pm at the Houlton fairgrounds.

Rules & Regulations

  • Safety is rule #1. No exceptions!
  • All participants must sign the liability waiver located on the bottom of the registration form. Minors must also have parent or legal guardians’ signature of consent and signature must be witnessed by a member of the registration team. Anyone not willing to sign waiver will be unable to participate and asked to leave the participant area.
  • All participants will conduct themselves professionally. Any conduct that is deemed unsportsmanlike or interferes with the operation of the event will result in the removal from said event and may go as far as being removed from the property with NO REFUNDS. This rule applies to the pit crew as well as the drivers, one person’s actions will affect the entire team!
  • For SAFETY reasons the staging and pit area is limited to participants and their team members only, anyone deemed otherwise will be removed and escorted to the spectator’s area.
  • The possession and consumption of ALCOHOL is completely forbidden within the grounds of the Houlton Fair. Anyone found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be ejected from the grounds with NO REFUND.
  • Speed limit in all areas will be 5mph or less except for when on the event track. Anyone seen operating in an unsafe manor will be ejected from the grounds NO REFUND. Safety is nonnegotiable.
  • All vehicles must be teched by an event official NO EXCEPTIONS! Any vehicle can be reinspected at anytime during the event.
  • It is highly recommended that all participating vehicles have a working fire extinguisher in the vehicle. Do not rely on track personnel to put out your fire.
  • Seatbelts and Helmets are required and refusal to wear one or both will result in disqualification. Open face helmets are allowed but full-face helmets are recommended.
  • All Vehicles must have working brakes and reverse to participate.
  • All batteries must be secured with an approved battery holder.
  • Modified/Non-Street legal vehicle must have kill switch within drivers reach.
  • All vehicles must be equipped with a neutral safety switch.
  • Vehicles must be in solid condition, free of debris that could potential come off and cause harm to the participant or spectators.
  • Mandatory solid hook on rear of all vehicles.
  • All open top vehicles (ie. Jeep, blazer, bronco) must have adequate roll over protection.
  • All vehicles must be in staging area when their class is called, only staged vehicles will be allowed to participate in that class, you must remain with your vehicle once the class is staged.
  • Maximum of 2 drivers per class.
  • All participants will pay the gate fee to enter the grounds, the fee will cover the cost of registration for one class, drivers may jump participate in multiple classes at the discretion of event officials but will be required to re-register and pay a fee for each additional class. Cost of which will be decided the day of the event based on the total number of vehicle and participants.
  • No Refunds will be given after registration is closed.
  • The decisions of the event officials are final.

These rules and regulations are in place to provide safety for all who attend the event. This does not guarantee to remove the possibility of injury while attending this event as a participant, spectator, official, or volunteer. Anyone that is witness to and activity or condition that they feel is unsafe must report it to an event official or security. Event Superintendent reserves the right to add or remove rules at any time.

The Houlton Agricultural Fair is an agricultural and recreational event held every year over the 4th of July weekend in Houlton, Maine. Our goal is to provide education around Aroostook County’s lifeblood – agriculture – through entertainment, showcases and demonstrations.
